Alejandra is dedicated to fostering a thriving community in District 1 by leveraging her extensive small business experience and deep cultural insights. Committed to transparent communication and collaboration, she listens to and values every voice, advocating for economic development, better city services, and fiscal oversight that strengthens neighborhoods and benefits all residents. About Alejandra
El Paso Native & Local Businesswoman: Alejandra Chávez has over two decades of experience as a successful small business owner in El Paso.
Educational Background: Alejandra is a proud alumna of Loretto Academy. She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin and the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners (ICIF) in Italy. Alejandra also completed the Latino Business Action Network program at Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business.
Corporate Experience: Alejandra started her career as a commodities trader and analyst for major industry players before returning to El Paso.
Community Involvement: She has donated to numerous organizations including El Paso Symphony Orchestra, El Dedon Verde Garden Club, El Paso Children’s Hospital, Texas Tech, El Paso Pro Musica, EPISD, Animal Rescue League, and the Amigo Kidney Foundation.
Business Leadership: For 20 years, owned and operated a successful catering company and restaurant in El Paso, demonstrating her commitment to economic growth and community development. Currently, she leverages this extensive experience in a consulting and advising role, helping other businesses thrive and contribute to our local economy.
Awards: Honored with the SBA Women in Business Champion of the Year Award for 2022.
